Rakesh Vengayil

Mr. Vengayil was Deputy Chief Executive Officer Asia Pacific and Chief Executive Office Hong Kong for BNP Paribas Asset Management. He was also the Head of Business Strategy & Support of BNP Paribas Asset Management, Asia Pacific. Mr Vengayil joined the BNP Paribas group in 1998 in India and thereafter moved to BNP Paribas Asset Management in 2004 as Vice President and Head of Asset Management Operations in BNP Paribas Asset Management India. He has also assumed senior management roles in the India, Hong Kong and London offices.
In his previous role, Mr Vengayil assisted the APAC Chief Executive Officer in overseeing strategic projects and the day-today business operations activities. Mr Vengayil was also responsible for reinforcing and expanding the firm’s solid digitalization and technology blueprint to generate even better operational efficiencies across the business and value-added services to clients – capitalize on digital initiatives in the areas of augmented Investments, robo-advisers, and improving data infrastructure, governance and integrity. These developments are at the core of the business’ strategic growth in the region.
Mr Vengayil has over 25 years of experience in Financial Services covering business management, product management & business support functions. He started his career with Morgan Stanley and also held various senior management roles with other banks and financial institutions. These included Head of Business Management for securities services in South Asia, at ABN Amro – where he was responsible for business management of fund services in the South Asian markets(location: Australia/Singapore)
